Discover how the first cohort of the PGDip in CHC, delivered through the partnership between Liaison Care and Anglia Ruskin University, achieved outstanding feedback, with 100% positivity across key learning areas and strong confidence in advancing their CHC careers.

When Anglia Ruskin University launched the Postgraduate Diploma in Continuing Healthcare (CHC) in partnership with Liaison Care, we knew there was a real appetite for structured, career-relevant learning for staff who have or wish for a career within CHC.

Now that our first cohort of students has completed the Essential Knowledge and Skills in Continuing Healthcare module, we can see that appetite in action…

The numbers speak for themselves

Students were asked to rate their experience across key core areas, from teaching quality to course organisation. The results were outstanding:

• 100% positivity on how engaging teachers made the subject
• 100% positivity on how well the module built on prior skills and learning
• 100% positivity on the clarity of assessment criteria
• 100% positivity on how easy it was to contact teaching staff
• 100% positivity on how well teaching staff supported learning
• 100% positivity on how well organised the module was
• 100% positivity on how well the module developed knowledge and skills for students’ future careers
• 100% positivity on how well students felt their opinions were acted upon
• 100% positivity on students feeling part of a community of students and staff

As a new course aimed at improving staff confidence and competence and resulting in greater consistency in CHC excellence, we’re as an organisation working in partnership with the university to use the feedback to continue supporting the course to improve.

In their own words

Further to the numbers, one student described the module as having a “nice pace”, with an opportunity for discussion throughout, and praised the well-organised lectures and friendly staff – adding that they’re “looking forward to getting on with the next modules”.

Another spoke about how engaging and easy to follow the teaching was, how relevant it felt to their day-to-day role in Continuing Healthcare, and how the feedback on their formative assignment gave them a much clearer picture of what was expected for the summative assessment. They called the overall experience “a really positive learning experience”.

While a third summed the course up as “well-structured and engaging”, with practical content and learning materials that were clear and directly applicable to clinical practice.

Why this matters

The feedback shows that CHC professionals are hungry for specialist, practice-relevant academic development, and that our partnership with Anglia Ruskin University is delivering it.

Students told us the course felt relevant to their day-to-day jobs, gave them clarity and confidence, and made them feel genuinely supported and part of a community – enabling them to elevate their own practices.
